I have been hunting about 4 days this Muzzle-loader season so far and havent shot anything yet . How about you guys ? Usually I see lots and lots of trucks with deer on in the bed comming back from a hunt. I have only saw about 3 deer in the back of some trucks . Gonna try it tomarrow again , hopefully the high wind we are having will calm down .

Wind was very stiff this weekend. Saw lots of deer but with the exception of a few young bucks they were all out past 200 yards. Just can't make that shot with a smoke pole. Thank goodness next week is rifle season. Finally get to put the primitive weapons away and use a real gun.

I saw two nice deer in the back of a truck yesterday in Hardin County. I killed a decent little 8 pointer opening day, there is a picture of it in the other muzzle loader thread, think it is on the fifth page.

I've not done any good yet either. Let 2 young bucks walk

and saw a shooter but, couldn't get

a good shot. The wind has been blowing pretty hard and is this morning too. I stayed in this morning because of the wind.

Killed a doe opening morning and a 6 point Sunday. Had a good year so far, been 4 times and killed 3. Gonna take a good one before I pull the trigger again this year.

Missed a doe. She came out of a deep bottom and I went for a neck shot, cause I didn't want her to run back down the hill. Missed clean and watched her walk off. I wasn't too upset. I was feeling lazy and I was about a half mile from the truck.

Bought a CVA Optima last Wednesday....sighted it in Thursday....Friday took my first deer in probably close to 10 years (finally have some property to hunt!). Thought it was a doe, but turned out it was a button buck that I gut shot from 75 yards or so YUCK! Saw a buck walk by at 150 yards maybe 15 minutes later and missed. Hoping I can get him Friday night. If not I'll be out all day Saturday with my 30-06.....got to teach my 11 year old how to field dress, skin, and butcher it Sunday afternoon with the help of my grandmother, who taught me how to do it 25 years ago! Made some ground beef for tacos we ate last night and nice chunks for the chili we ate for dinner tonight......the boy is learning anatomy in school so he was loving butchering it and checking out all the parts and pieces.....good times
