Rebuilding my collection

4 years ago, my house was burglarized and about 90% of my collection was stolen. It was a very hard lesson learned because I made the mistake of buying a cheap safe. They were able to bend the edges of the safe door out and pull everything but the longest rifles and handguns that were stored at the bottom.. They got away with 4 old revolvers, 2 hunting rifles, 2 SKSs and my AK.

Half of the items belonged to my grandfather so I was a painful loss.

This is home home collection today. I have a few others at my cabin in Mississippi.

S&W M&P15-22 – Fun on a bun! This is the “wife’s rifle†as well as our range\practice rifle. It needs better optics, but I have to wait till I have the money to buy 2 because I want the 15-22 to function identically to the 556 (I’m going Bushnell) That way everything we practice with on the 22 will transfer seamlessly to the 556. The forward grip is my wife’s preference (I cant adjust to it).

S&W M&P15 Sport – The cheap thrill! I thought I made a mistake by buying this cheap AR till I saw it eat what choked other ARs (like my friends Colt). It must be the AK or AR-15s. I have run over 700 rounds of the cheapest crappy ammo I can find and it has yet to have a failure (I have not\wont run lacquer though). Wolf, Tula, Bear, unknown reloads…it doesn’t care.

Mossberg 500 Persuader – 7+1 Boom Stick! I had to put on a collapsible stock so my wife could shoulder it. The red-dot is also for my wife, but I would like to wean her off of it.

H&R 38 S&W – Stays hidden in my nightstand. I don’ t care much for it, but its nice that it can have a dedicated role.

High-Standard .22 9-shot– My wife’s plinker.

Glock 17 – Range and “Go-to-war†handgun. It travels in my car safe during the day.

Raven .25 – Stays in my wife’s BOB

Beretta .25 Jetfire – This is the original that doesn’t have a safety and belonged to my uncle. It rides on my ankle 5 days a week.

Kel-Tec PF9 (x2) – His and hers EDC.

Things left to acquire

1.Kel-Tec KSG – The thing is just awesome. I can’t wait for its release.

2. Bolt-action 308 – Currently researching what I will buy

3. Berretta 92FS – I really like them

4. 357 Revolver – Not sure which, yet.

5. S&W Governor – I know its not the best thing since sliced bread, but its versatility really calls to me.

6. Second AR-15 – I really like the Christian Arms, but that’s a LOT of cash.

7. AK-47 – Everyone should have one.

Even without the list of things you still want to pick up this is a good collection. Once you pick up the bolt action you will have essentially every area covered, plus some.

I do not remember the brand of safe, but it was a cheapo from Walmart.

I don't mind sharing info on the collection. However, I wont go into their location or how they are secured today. I will say that I can leave home with my doors and windows open and feel pretty secure that they will be there when I get back (even if everything else is gone).

why advertise what you have?

When I first joined I saw some list their weapons in there signature and I did until I thought about it.

I suppose its the anonymity of the internet.

Ouch. That hurts, especially losing the weapons that belonged to your grandfather. Good to see your putting it all back together.
