Is it not inconceivable to anyone else that a bank would loan someone who has never really had a job $100,000 or more for a education in whatever degree they choose right out of high school when they are still young and idealistic? Crazy! It's flipping crazy to do that, unless maybe perhaps what if that stupidly made loan was backed by the government?

That totally ticks me off.

Then again don't be fooled into thinking that Wall Street and also the bond sharks are doing much more than robbing the country blind. I know most of you guys think we are capitalist and operate on a free market system, but this isn't a capitalist country, we do not have a free market. Not in the past 15 or 20 years.

We have one of the most tightly manage economies in the world. (Maybe a bit of hyperbole in that statement, but not much)

I think the occupy movement is a farce and a half but I hope it makes some people look into our economy enough to realize that it's totally been lost and we no longer have much of a free market unless you are a mega chain.

99% of Americans are spoiled.

I think it should be more than 3.5 days a year up in the mountains.

I think it should be one year after high school spent in some 3rd world crap hole living like a local.

To gain a little perspective.

"You do realize you have RUNNING water right?"

I say it to all my kids, granted they do not get it untill they are older

Yep. About 5 years ago I spent 2 weeks in China, with some of it in the mainland region. I've always been appreciative of what I have but it really drove it home for sure. Spending time over there would sure shut some whiney babies up. Having to squat over a hole in the ground to take a dump is eye opening.

I was so glad to get back home even with that short amount of time. I can't imagine spending a year.

With the coming of cooler weather, my wife has designed, and is starting to make sweaters for the occutards - it's called an occutardigan... it has no head hole.

I enjoy watching Whittle's commentaries.

"These precious snowflakes have been told how wonderful and unique they are their entire lives and everyone has always come in first place."

That about sums it up right there.

Indeed it do. Got an older brother who's tagline is "Remember, you're special! (Just like everyone else on the whole freakin' planet.)" :)

A guide for parents on how to create an Occupy Protester:

Enroll your kids in soccer and make sure every one of them get a trophy.

Spend $1000 each on them at Christmas time, then give them anything they want the rest of the year.

When they get a bad grade or get in trouble at school, have a meeting with the teacher and principal and try to get the teacher fired.

Let them play video games all day long.

Never make them do chores.

Let the kids rule the parents.

Never punish your child.

Did exactly that. 40 miles southwest of Dangriga in the Stann Creek District, Belize. Worked in two villages, one Garafuna tribesmen (descendants of shipwrecked slaves) and the other Maya Indians. Our driveway was 5 miles off the main dirt/mud road, and then on that another two hours to town.

Best, and most formative year of my life.
