Need to depopulate the racoon population around my hay barns. Will use live traps. Will kill and skin them.Does anyone know if there are still fur buyers around.Haven't done this since back in the 60's.Used to run a trapline some back then with a friend.Had a guy in the edge of Ky.,named Frenchy, that bought the stretched and dried hides.Would really rather sell raw hides. Thanks

I can't answer that, but I have found baiting a live trap with a honey bun will catch possums or coons. I tried everything to get those critters and finally a little old 90 year old farmer lady told me to use honey buns. It has worked every time.

Trapped all through high school and for a while in my 20's. Right now, I have the same problem you have, only I'm trying to keep the damn 'coons and possums out of my garbage and hen house. Still have half a dozen leg hold traps and a couple of Conibears to that end. Got a pair of foxes that visit every now and then that I'll probably try for in late December, early January. Also have bobcats on our ridge, but so far they've left us alone.

Good luck!

I don't trap anymore. TWRA used to announce fur sales and auctions. I believe they were held after the season was over.
