Finally found a 1911 that I have been looking for.

I have been looking for one of these for a few years. It is a Springfield full length rail Operator. They only made these for a little while and then went to the half rail model and that's all they have made since. It will being going to a 1911 smith soon to get worked over. I want to have the slide dove tailed, new sights, new trigger, main spring housing, mag well, beavertail, the works done to it. Thanks to Daniel (Metalhead) for giving me the heads up on the gun and holding it for me.

The ammo in the pic is the new Hornady "Zombie Max".

Sorry about crappy iPhone pic.

Excellent! Do Zombie Maxes work on Werewolves? I think there has been one :D in my yard.

Are you sure it's a werewolf? Perhaps it's a Occupy Raleigh protestor.

One of my prized firearms is my Springfield TRP Operator FLDC - congrats you will love it. BTW high noon makes an awesome holster for it, if you need pics let me know.

What about the RIA 1911s? Have been looking at different 1911s and they seem really reasonably priced.

The pistol looks sweet, any reason why you held out for the full length rail?

I just like it because it is different. You see the half rail Operators all them time, but the full length ones are hard to come by. I probably won't ever run a light on or carry it. I just like it.

RIA's are good to go. I will probably pick up one of their full rail guns before too long.

I sold a TRP full rail recently. The extra weight on the front made it shoot like a dream. Unfortunately I found myself needing the money more than the gun. Only upside is that I bought it several years ago when they first offered the TRP that way. After they stopped, the prices increased a bit. I think I sold it for everything I had in it, including sales tax, and still made a hundred dollars or so on it.
