PM Inbox Storage/Warning

Recommended Posts

Would it be possible to increase the size of the forums inbox folder anytime soon? And is there any way that a warning notification could be made for a nearly full inbox? With instructions on how archive/delete to make room? (No offense but for the dinasaurs on the forum.) Its irritating when I cant send a PM half the time because inboxes are full. Kind of important too for the trading post when no other means of contact have been established and time sensitive urgent information is present.

I know I would greatly appreciate either of those two options above with notifications being probably the cheapest to implement.

In you inbox it shows how much storage you have left. All you gotta do is look. ;) You also have the option of achiving and storing your PM's on your own computer.

Perhaps the forums aren't pulling in enough money. We need more benefactors! lol

This would help David with the upgrades he pays for.

I for 1 keep my mail box cleaned out, once a trade or other conversation is done then the pm's hit the trash.

Let me see what I can do. One would think 5k per message (arbitrary figure) is not a lot, but considering that most storage subsystems do not store in 5k blocks but rather larger block sizes, and considering that you would multiply the number of messages by the number of users, etc.... it's not exactly a linear equation. Our nightly database only backups compressed are about 300MB. Uncompressed our database size is already nearly 2GB.

That's a lot of text.
