I really wanted an mp5 but I don't have the budget for 2k for a good quality clone and the usc45 is as long as my ar15 so what's the point... I am most likely going to buy a ptr32 "pistol" and put a collapsable paratrooper stock on it. Will end up being kinda like a 7.62 mp5 bc they are both the hk style. The pistol has an 8" barrel so it would be like an mp5 but half the cost and more powerful.

Gun:

Stock:

HK 91 & HK G3 Stock - HKPARTS.NET

Opinions please :)

I would skip the 7.62x39 and go with a .308. I have just never liked the look of the 7.62x39 HK style guns. Plus you can get HK .308 mags for like $2 each.

Get this one and dont look back.

PTR PDW Pistol .308

I will tell you that on the .308 you have to shorten the recoil rod and spring for the 51 style SBR's. The regular .308 recoil rod is 12", but you have to have it at 9" to work in the 51 size guns. I have had the full size 91, the 51, and the 51k sized clones and my favorite is the 51. It is a great range toy.

yeah i have always wanted a .308 gun the rounds are just too expensive for the purpose of the gun i think. I will just use it to have fun with. My .45 has a light on it and it stays on my night stand so i use that for home defense. If i could find those bullets for cheaper i would. There are chinese rounds on cheaperthandirt for about 100ish dollars for 500 thats pretty good

If you SBR it then you are probably going to keep it the rest of your life so why not "get what you have always wanted"?

I would get on hkpro.com and read in the clone section about the 7.62x39 guns to see how they run before I bought one. The HK style guns can be problematic at times if even the smallest thing is off. I'm not saying they dont run because I have never researched about them, but I would just check it out.

i think for the price of the pistol u are looking at that u should just save a little longer an get the mp5 clone. i would like to have a mp5 an a uzi but decided to sbr a 9mm ar15 so that i can later down the road switch calibers if i decide i want to. for the tax stamp i think the ar15 platform is the only way to go!!

If I was going with all the hassle of an SBR I'd def get what I wanted not what I could lay my hands on right now. Jason is right, don't skimp on lifelong investments.
