The meeting of the Memphis Friends of NRA Committee will be Tuesday, April 1 (no, this is not an April's Fool joke). The meeting will be at RangeUSA in the small classroom, and will start at 7 pm.

This will be a year of rebuilding for the Memphis Committee, and help and support is needed from new volunteers.

The monthly meeting will always be the first Tuesday of each month.

So, please join us on Tuesday, April 1st. The cause is worthwhile, and your help would be appreciated.

I got my email from the local guy (Mike Webb), about this meeting. I am interested in helping out in this, so I will try to make it. Our lodge meets on Tuesday nights, but I think this is a worthy effort so I think I will try to make it. What usually goes on in these meetings?

If you would rather tell me than type any details just send me a pm and I will give you my cell number.

Mason:

There are basically four things that every volunteer can do in order to help pull off a successful banquet:

-sell tickets to the event

-sell sponsorships to the NRA Foundation

-sell "pre-event" tickets, ie, tickets for a chance at a game of skill, the winner of which wins an item given to them before the event (hence "pre-event"). For example, the committee sells 500 tickets on a "pre-event" pistol

-obtain donations. These items are then placed in the silent or live auction to raise funds. For example, think of an ice chest filled with shotgun shells - friends or an area business could donate these to you, and you'll bring them to the meeting and turn them in as donations. The dove hunters at the banquet will readily bid on this.

So, hope that answers your question. Our Memphis banquet will be in October and we're ready to get going. Please join us.

Thanks.

David
