Tennessee gun owner gear

A while ago someone metioned getting TGO logo stickers or somthing.

Now we are discussing TGo becoming more of a club, with the possibility of a political agenda. Some thing I would like to see happen in both cases.

Tungsten If you do not have an issue with this, I would lile to do the following.

1. investigate the cost of bumber stickers, hats, t shirts etc.

2. I suggest that we sell these items for a price of cost + 20%

3. the excess to go into a TGO group fund. Monies could be used for group outings or just to help offset the cost of running the sight.

4. we could get orders from the group prior to actually ordering the merchandise, so nobody would have to store a large inventory.

Shoot me your thoughts guys, I think this a great group that is going to grow leaps and bounds. We have members from the professional fire arms training field to guys that just like to learn and shoot or hunt. I'm proud to be associated with you all, and would love to help spread the word about TGO in the above manner.

Yeah I could go for a polo as well. Actually I did say bumber sticker but I hate those things, guess I was really thinking more like a small decal for the rear window with just the TGO target and a couple of bullet holes. But if were considering TGO gear than we need to see

1. if enough members are interested .

2. what they would like to see offered.

Several thoughts come to mind:

1) Kudos jackdog for a great idea!

2) As molonlabetn said, CafePress.com might be a good place to start -I have worked with them before and they are reasonable.

3) Shirts of various types (polo, t, long sleeve t, denim) are usually the most popular and sell fastest. Caps and stickers have less appeal to some.

4) I like the idea of using the profits to grow TNGO as a forum and club. Lots of potential uses of the $ beyond the scope of this thread.

5) Merch can be used as incentives as well -free tshirt to benefactors, monthly prize in various contests, etc. Nice way to grow membership and enhance the brand image.

6) All that said, we probably need a larger group to make this happen and make it profitable. If everyone on the board could recruit one new member, then I think we'd have closer to the "critical mass" needed to make the club idea happen and also make the sale of merch profitable.

That brings me to:

7) Publicity: Many of us attend gun shows. I'm wondering if we could whip up a TGO flyer and plaster the shows with it. Great, cheap, way to spread the word. I'm going to the show in Nashville next weekend (3/17) and would be glad to do so. I could even whip up a quickie flyer, run it by Tungsten to get his ok, and run some off. If other TGO-ers do this at their local shows, we could build membership. Then at next year's round of shows, we start showing up with tables. At the tables are brochures about what we are, signup sheets, merchandise to sell, and info about upcoming local events if we start having them. And so we continue to grow...

Thoughts?

I would probably purchase a T and Long Sleeve T. I only like very specific types of hats so that would probably be out. I am a little against having decals on my vehicle that denote me as a gun owner. I just think that you are asking to have your car broken in to, especially outside of an establishment that sells alcohol for consumption on premisis.

We have been discussing the club aspect of TGO, and I think the general concensus right now is that we start with a few simple meet and greet range outings. Nothing too formal. Try to get the people that live in your immediate area to the range at an agreed upon time, or maybe meet up at Shoneys and then go to the range or vice versa.

Anyway, great idea and if Admin goes for it with the use of his logo and the name, I am game for a shirt or two.

We still need the "BOSS" to input on this subject!

Who me?

I've had decals made before for Tennesspeed.net and have had other "swag" made as well. As a result, I've got quite a few resources at my disposal for doing this kind of thing. Plus, the company I work for employs a group of graphics designers and we regularly deal with quite a few printing companies.

So, let me sit down, wade back through this thread and see what I can come up with. I'll get back to you all on it. :)
