Been lurking for some time and decided today to jump in.

I am a huge fan of marksmanship be it from a pellet, arrow or bullet. I am not much of a hunter, but I love sport shooting. I was captain of my high school and college rifle teams and continue weekly practice with small caliber rifles.

My wife and I received our HCPs last year and began our handgun collection. My favorite to date is my Glock 17 and it goes to the range once a week as well.

We also bought a pair of ARs, but I think my next purchase will be a bolt-action .308. I am really eager to get into some precision shooting with larger caliber rifles.

Welcome! You go to the range weekly? Wow, you must have huge ammo stockpiles :rolleyes:

I do have a certain amount of ammunition that I keep stocked, but it is kept separate from my range ammo. Its properly stored away and I don't touch it.

I usually take our M&P 15/22 and a .22 conversion for my Glock. One $18.00 box of .22 will last a month.

Once a month we will alternate one trip with 100 rounds of 9mm, 60 rounds of .223 or 50 rounds of 12 gauge.

Welcome fellow Memphian. That bolt action is going to require another purchase (range membership) to go along with it if you plan on shooting here.

Unfortunately, the nearest public rifle range is 2 hours east of here (Natchez Trace State Park) and that's only a 100 yard range. MSSA is a private club on the northeast side of town. I've heard it's nice, but pricey.
