Well good for you. Not everyone can be so lucky. And while 5 bucks may not be a ton of money, 60 bucks a year is for a lot of people. Thats an extra tank of gas or the ability to take the family out to a nice® dinner or a movie. When you consider that there are other banks out there NOT charging those fees and you can switch for free, it makes it an easy choice for a lot of families.

Personally, the added fee was the straw that broke the camel's back, if you will. Regions has done me wrong so often in the past but I stuck with them because it was free. Then they posted at all of their locations. That wasn't a huge deal because I rarely need to spend time in a branch. But the fee was enough that it pushed me past my breaking point. Now I don't have to worry about it.

But I think its very rude to act high and mighty because you are so well off. Congratulations. The rest of us that aren't swimming in money like McDuck will continue making our choices based on trivial amounts of money.

LOL...butthurt much? It's not about being anything guy...I can afford 5 dollars per month by taking my lunch to work 1 day per month to afford the luxury of on-line bill pay and other services. We are not talking about 20 per month....it's 5 bucks.

You guys get bent waaayyy to quick and too easily, pick and choose your battles better.

I wouldn't hesitate to pay 5 per month for all the services they offer to me, do you think that stuff is free? Smokers/drinkers spend more than that on a daily basis....and complain about a small fee to provide services.

First TENN ALREADY charges 9.95 a month to maintain my account...my debit card is PART of THAT, another fee for the SAME service it overkill...

I would contact the branch manager about that...not a 5 dollar fee. But it seems that someone said they were NOT charging.

Nope not butthurt. Just like to play devil's advocate. I take my lunch to work EVERY day. Your post came across as a little snobby so I immediately jumped to the other end of the spectrum. Not because I'm poor (although i feel like I am), but because I love arguing.

I've been with Regions since they were Leader Federal who was bought out by Union Planters, who became Regions.

I recently closed my small personal checking account. When I closed the account, the guy waiting on me had to fill out a form and asked why I was closing my account. I told him I was supporting "Occupy My Street", or in other words, I'm trying to keep the money in my home so I can continue to occupy 'my street'.

I'm glad to learn most of the banks will be dropping the fee, but let's not kid ourselves, they will find another source of income via some sort of convenience/service fee some place else. It's not personal, it's just business.
