Don't know who Kwik is, huh? :)

Ya know... Kwik really needs some good old fashioned Police Brutality. As the old saying goes, there's a place for everything.

I would like to agree, however, we need to remember that even though his antics are bizarre, he really hasn't broken any laws.

If his antics were just bizarre, it wouldn't matter. His antics are dangerous

Man I'd love to see that, but I think the unfortunate consequence would be a multi-million dollar lawsuit in his favor. He needs bone cancer.

I suppose, since our society has become too stupid to realize that sometimes, a good old fashioned ass whippin' can do a lot of good.

Y'all know how airline passengers these days have started beating down on someone they perceive is a threat? Well, what if he walked into the visitor gallery there in the legislature. People start watching him. What if he made a furtive movement and the gallery jumped him? He wouldn't have any cops to sue, would he? :D

I'm thinking he tries to pull the Kentucky Capitol stunt, he ought to be "restrained" and in the interests the safety of himself and others, be involuntarily admitted to a mental hospital for 72 hours of evaluation. Once that is done, I don't believe he'd qualify for a handgun or concealed carry permit ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY, and, pending the outcome of his mental health evaluation, could lose the right to firearms of any sort for the rest of his life.

Me personally, I'd be interested in such an outcome.

I think such an outcome would be preferable to him carrying openly into the Kentucky Capitol, being told to drop the weapon, he decide to be cute and argue the point, and get shot to death for his stupidity. After all, . . . it would be a burden on the officer.

Having a guy in body armor and a tactical vest walk into the capital bldg with an "assault weapon"... I'm sure they'd find a law somewhere that he would break. If nothing else inciting a panic or some such. That's if they don't shoot him. His actions may be legal in a manner of speaking, but he's doing great harm to our community.

The disorderly conduct statute in Kentucky is pretty broad unless they changed it since I was there. Also, unless the law has changed since I was a cop there, the law specifies that an individual does not have a lawful justification to use force against someone clearly identifiable as a LEO to resist what the defendant believes to be an unlawful arrest.

What would be more interesting is if some average Joe with a CCW sees this idiot bee-bopping down the street and engages him as a threat.

Or you average bubba without a CCW or any training.

Ya know, Lennie could pass for a middle eastern guy at first glance anyway, that could add to one's jumpiness around the capitol, jest sayin'...

He has been begging to get shot for awhile. Lenny is definately an idiot, but probably not stupid enough to pull this new stunt. He needs to stick to park rangers.

I am all for reasonable acts to bring knowledge to those who should but do not know the law or are unwilling to hear the law. Although a bit over the top his state park incident made officers that weren't aware of the laws intimately aware of them afterwards. And without it I am not sure the officers involved would have been receptive to a "layman" advising them on the law before the incident.

Agreed.

On the other hand his actions, although legal, might result in the opposite in what he is trying to accomplish. ...

Nope, he's getting exactly what he wants. Attention.

I suspect the cops will do the same thing they did to the Westboro Baptist people in Louisiana. They'll pull him over before he gets there and simply detain him until he either gets bored and goes home or does something stupid that they can arrest him for.

Sounds like a terrorist threat to me.

They may go with that.</SPAN>

This guy is going to figure out that reading LexisNexis doesn’t make you a lawyer. But he’ll probably be in a prison cell by the time he figures that out.</SPAN>

What he did here was legal, but it cost him his HCP. The Capitol Police cannot allow him to enter like that. </SPAN>

Wont allow. I'm just wondering what jury would convict ANY LEO that dumps a mag into his ass if he shows up that way.

And that is exactly the point that Leonard doesn't grasp. The interpretations of the law that are important are those of the prosecutor and jury, not his own. When he says that an officer must have reasonable suspicion to detain him, he is right, but it's the reasonableness of the LEO's suspicion as judged by a group of Kwik's "reasonable" peers on the jury. I find it extremely unlikely that 12 average people wouldn't hear this story and find that the officer's actions were more than justified and reasonable. Heck, if thousands of gun owners think he is crazy and dangerous, you know that a jury of people who are scared of guns will be more than happy to throw the book at him. Kwik needs to get a clue in a hurry or he really risks getting himself and/or someone else killed. Yes, we have certain rights, but with those rights comes the requirement to exercise them responsibly. I think virtually everyone who is aware of his antics believes that he is not acting responsibly.

The good news is that he's really not doing much, if any damage to us. He has clearly set himself apart as a complete nutball. I was VERY happy when they revoked him permit. It just removed one more association with responsible gun owners.

Leonard's problem is the large collection of his own words he posted across the internet over the last 4+ years. Here is his current response to posts quoting his words.

I can't access copies of posts I have made. I have made thousands of posts and didn't keep track of them. It is a fact that many of my posts have been edited, deleted, changed, and moved. It would be different if I hosted a web forum and had a log of my posts, but I don't. To pick out one or a few posts out of context in a thread and claim they are difinitive of my thought process is ridiculous. Many of my posts are sarcastic, many have been edited by others, many are in the context of other threads and posts made about the same time.
He's made these allegations about almost all the forums where he posted.

He doesn't remember, doesn't recall, alleges editing, taking out of context those posts that might reflect poorly on him or that contradict his present day versions of his actions. His recall of exactly what was said that supports him is perfect. Oddly, sometimes those he can't recall, etc., and those that support him occurred/were posted at the same time.

Update: He has now been banned from Silencer Talk.

Yes, the link is dead. The thread was taken off the public forum.

Okay, for those finding Leonard a source of entertainment, he has reappeared.

He's like crack in the TGO neighborhood.
