New S&W K Frame 19-4 2.5

Two revolvers on my S&W bucket list amongst many. Models 19 and 66 in 2.5 inch.

I have been tracking prices on the 19 and 66s and they definitely aren't coming down!!

I didn't want to buy one sight unseen (via photos) from GA or GB. So, I have been waiting patiently for a couple of years now. Two sets of eyes are better than one and my Son found this one at a LGS. It was a week before I could get in and look at it. I wasn't really concerned that it was going to be gone...with the price they had on it.

Based on The Standard Catalog of S&W description I would say this is "As New in Box" or "Excellent Plus" at the absolute minimum. Box matches and is 99.5%, wax paper is intact and tools are there and unopened. All paperwork and marketing material included and like new. You can barely see a turn line and I don't know if has been fired or not although it is questionable.

It appears that is sat around as the first indication of sale is 1981 in Indiana. SN 91KO 3XX. Anyone know what "Special Features" 370 and INS 23 means?

Apparently this is a 1980.

You know how hard it is to photograph the blue stuff, but here are three pics. This thing is simply stunning.

I like the 2.5" M-19 and have owned mine since 1977, I've never considered parting with it. IIRC the code's you mentioned are for the type of front sight and rear sight blade insert. I'm pretty sure the wide/narrow hammer/triggers were described as such.

I have two of those in stainless (Model 66). They make great carry guns.

Been kicking around the idea of trading one for the .223 bolt gun I’m trying to find.

That is just like the one in my picture. It's a 19-5 from 82? The guys my dad bought it off of nickel plated it themselves.

I'm hoping it won't take as long to find a 66 as it did the 19.

There was a 686 2.5 no lock on ###. It was one of the gun show guys out of Nashville selling without a ffl. I think it was $550
