Versa Max vs Super Vinci vs 1187

I am currently in the market for a new semi auto shotgun. I have done a lot of reading and video watching over the past few weeks. I figured I would see if anyone has had personal experience with any of these shotguns? I am wanting to stay with a 12ga for sure.

What I use a shotgun for:

-Turkey

-Dove

-Quail

-Trap and sporting clays a lot!

-Duck hunting sometimes

-I watched the video of the Versa Max and how it will feed any type shell in any size. They have also said that it is a good light shooting gun for trap. I know there was a recall on the Versa Max but that they worked everything out!

-I'll have to admit I don't know too much about the Super Vinci. My buddy has a Benelli and I really liked it.

-My uncle has an 1187 and I shot my first turkey with it and have also shot some Clays with it also.

I know some people may say that I would need two different shotguns for all of these jobs but I am confident it can be done with one!

The reason I threw the 1187 in there is bc if it can do all the jobs of the others then it's a no brainier bc it's half the price!

Thanks guys!

I would probably opt for the Vinci, but only have a little trigger time on them.

I was always more impressed with the 1100 than the 1187. The 1187s that I have messed with were a little more finicky, especially with light loads. I haven't shot one, but the Versa Max just doesn't feel right to me.

If I were you, I would open up your criteria to include 3" models as well. Geese are about the only thing I use 3 1/2" shells for anymore.

they claim that the versa max copied alot if its features from the Benelli M2 in fact it is claimed that you remove the trigger group from the M2 and install it as is in the Versa Max and run the gun. even the pistol grip stock with small mods were it mates to versa max reciever.

I had a Benelli SBE II, for a long time and I loved that gun. The inertia recoil system is awesome. Not only do you not have gas ports to clean but it really softens 3.5"magnums to a very tolerable level. It breaks down very easily for cleaning. I k ow the Vinci is slightly different but if I were buying a shotgun today, Benelli hands down.

You might be able to do it all with one shotgun. Tuesday night I saw a man with an 1100 Trap Model, engraved, with a gold duck inlaid in the receiver, turkey thumbhole stock in Mossy Oak camo, 11 round magazine tube, shooting a round of trap. If that was not a do it all 1100, I don't know what it is.
