Yep, starting to see a few rubs around.

WD, you're not completely alone. There are a few rocklockers here. Well, 3 of us that I know of! I'll be honest though, my flinter is not my primary muzzleloader. I'm still too in love with my percussion Plains Rifle!

Is that a youth rifle?

I got a T/C Impact last year and killed two deer with it. I'm gonna try and bust some lungs again this year.

I saw an awesome rub yesterday that was on a cedar that was about 6" diameter. Rubbed from the ground to about 4 feet high. I want the buck that did it.

My old trusty companion is a Knight MK85 .50 cal. Topped with a Redfield 1.75X5 wide angle scope. 240 gr .44 cal bullets with sabots.

Has anybody seen any rubs or scrapes yet? I found 3 or 4 scrapes and only 2 or 3 rubs so far.

Scrapes showing up everywhere now...:)

Congratulations on the doe. I hunted till 10:45 and didn't see anything but squirrels. It was super foggy and the fog didn't really move out till almost 10:00.

I didn't get to hunt Sunday or this morning but, did go this afternoon and saw just a bunch of squirrels. If we get some cold mornings it will have to get better.

I don't know about where your at but they have been moving a lot in mid afternoon out by me..... go figure

Here's a little 8 pointer I killed Saturday morning at about 8:15. Used my TCA .54 CAL. Renagade.IMG_0467.jpg[/img]

If I had passed on this one, somebody else around here would have taken him later on this year. I saw another one very similar to this one Sunday morning. I had gotten down and was checking out what little was left of the gut pile, and he saw me before I saw him.

Sidinman, thats a good'un. Like you said if you let him walk who knows how long he would make it. Looks like he's got a big body.

Thanks, yea he was pretty heavy for around here. Boy did he have an odor if you know what I mean.

I say it's a two an a half year old. The one I saw Sun. looked to be about the same size. But it was only a quick look as he seen me before I seen him. lol

Nice deer. You dont have to explain to us why you shot it. Your area to hunt so you shoot what you want. Besides thats a pretty buck.
