This was a rifle I found in a pawn shop in Alamosa Colorado a few decades back. It's a 1947 vintage Winchester Model 70. Originally chambered in 30-06, the bore was completely shot out and barrel bent when I bought it for $190.00.

I had another barrel for a 1963 vintage 70 in .264WM that had split at the crown.

I had the barrel cut down and recrowned. The bolt refaced and jewelled. The stock is original, but the floor plate and trigger guard are from a pre-war featherweight. The butt pad is vintage Pachmeyr.

The Rings and Mount are vintage Redfield. The scope is a vintage Unertl Hawk I had reconditioned by Premier Reticle.

I sold this rifle in 2004 while unemployed. I repurchased it this month. The fellow I sold it to said he hadn't had a chance to shoot it.

I've taken 3 antelope, 2 Elk, 1 Cow Moose and 4 Mule Deer with it. It shoots 1 MOA.

Great-looking rig. I've been a fan of pre-64 M70's for a while. Glad you were able to get it back!

1 down. Of the 200+ I sold in 2004-2006, I'd like to have about 15 of them back again. I replaced the 230 I sold with a 232 from Rabbi, so I guess I can cross that one off the list, too.
