Out here in millington,TN about 3 years ago a female friend of mine was forced in her car at gun point. The man made her drive about 15 miles away raped her robbed her and stole her car. This is all bad but what makes it worse was it was 4pm still daylight and very busy. I'd say carry it if u can.

You dont say if this happened in the Walmart parking lot or not, but considering the thread topic I'll assume it did. That doesnt surprise me.

They had several purses snatched in the parking lot of the Walmart in Ashland City a couple months back. I definitely feel a lot better OCing in parking lots, especially a Walmart parking lot. ;)

You can't use deadly force to stop a purse snatching alone, you know?

Tell him you actually shouldn't be shopping at commie mart and supporting Chinese slave labor and take your business elsewhere. You could also carry open everytime you go there.

If my gun isn't welcome, neither am I. Surprisingly its never an issue. Even from people I expected to have a problem with it.

You may not need a pistol IN Walmart but the parking lot is a different matter. I always carry in Walmart. Everybody carries in wally World.

This is one of the reasons why i carry into wal-mart. Those cameras can only record so much and i would rather prevent crime happening to me than be a victim and have to wait on the police to find the perps. Especially here in this town.

The opinions of my co-worker dosen't really bother me now. So far most of what he says i take with a grain of salt. Most of what he says is BS anyways. He was clearly stating his opinion( though i thought it was the wrong one).

I normally carry concealed ( under an untucked shirt or under a jacket). If it isn't clearly visible it must be concealed right? I figure most who might catch a glimpse of the barrel( in a fobus holster) might think it's just my phone showing( but mine's in the carpenter pouch on the jeans or in a pocket).

If the town i live in offered a better selection, say a Target, I'd probably be shopping there instead of wally-world. But Huntsville is a mere 30 mins away and I most definately carry when i go down there.

That's just mean man! To get her mind dwelling on something like that.

It's the absolute gospel mind you and I agree 150%, but good mothers worry and you just made it worse:)

indeed it was, but it got the desired effect. I'm no longer a 15 year old little boy that she can coddle and protect from the world and order around anymore. Sometimes, mom just needs to be put in her place. I'm ok if she worries, that's what mom's do and I love my mom to death. I'll understand her perspective better one day when I'm a father to my own children, but I'll never frown on them wanting to be knowledgeable about the safety and handling and use of a firearm and I'll never question them wanting to carry one when they're of legal age, but as my dad did with me, I'll be sure they're educated on the proper use, proper handling, proper loading and unloading, proper carrying (either while hunting or out in public) and they'll know how to properly shoot one and hit their target.

Update:

I did my shopping this morning( before the rest of fayetteville showed up to the store) on saturday. Did my shopping, got my stuff and checked out. All the while concealing my pistol under a medium coat and walked right by my co-worker who was working another register. He said nothing and never hinted if he could see my pistol. So I figure, if i keep it concealed so none can even see an imprint, Nobody will ever say a thing against it.

Still gonna get either a supertuck or a smaller pistol for the warmer months. Thanks to all who replied.
