Everybody has that one handgun they'll pick up if it comes along at the right price someday. Mine is a Smith 617 .22lr revolver with a 6" barrel. Too bad nobody ever sells one once they acquire it...what are you all holding personal vigils for?

That is mine too. I have decided to just buy new. Found a really good price on one.

I have found a couple used ones but not for what I thought was a reasonable used price

This thread has made me realize that I don't currently have one that I am holding out for. Sure, there are guns I'd like to have but for some time my 'one of these days' handgun was a Super Blackhawk in .44 Magnum. I bought one of those earlier this year and haven't really identified anything else to take its place as an 'I'll own one, some day' handgun - which I consider as different from the few 'I'd like to haves' that are on my wish list. I also consider that different from my 'it would be cool to have one but I'll never be able to afford it' guns - such as a real Luger.

LOL.......holding out or seeking out? 3" models are hard to locate

I know of several 686 4" and 6" for sale but 3" is never around,makes u wonder why S&W

never made more....

Not really seeking, but if I ever stumbled on one I'd surely make an offer.
