Because Johnson City is infested. Unfortunately, nobody warned me before I attended ETSU... It was interesting.

Beer is handled differently than liquor in terms of code.

There are bizarre examples of this. In my town, you cannot consume beer after 10 o'clock, but since the city cannot regulate liquor, you can purchase whiskey shots. I have actually been in bars where the servers walked around and collected all of the half drunk beers at 10. Weird, huh?

Now what will I do on Memphis-gunshow weekends? Going to The Pony was a great way to waste the spoils of a successful Saturday! I'm so glad my morality is being regulated by other people.

What in the world is this world coming to? No beer & boobs? Bah Humbug!

Rodney Carrington sings the anthem for the cause- Titties & Beer (Adult content, turn down the sound at work).

The late, great Frank Zappa also wrote a song called Titties and Beer, but it's a LOT different from this version

I bought a couple of Frank Zappa records back when I was in college. I think I traded them for some horrible experimental electronic music vinyls.

I'll have to find that Zappa song....

BTW, I once sat next to Moon Unit and Dweizel on a flight from Vancouver to Chicago. He listened to a tape and she drew artwork in a journal. She is very talented.

Religion should stay out of Politics or be TAXED!!! Love Thy Neighbor,(strip clubs) lol.

hey, Jesus was nice to that hooker. it's the modern day church goers that want to slap people in the face with the bible. that doesn't get many conversions.

An ex-girlfriend of mine once got into an argument with an atheist and literally started throwing bibles at him.

He's still an atheist, you may be on to something there Desiree.

So Memphis is matching Nashville tit for tat?

Haha <insert pun here>, nice one DrBoom. How many people over looked it.

I had a friend growing up that made alot of money from loosers who visited her place of business. She drank the adult beverage of choice, but never did the drugs. She was in need of money to put herself through skool (sorry, had to).

She is most likely only a small percentile who succeeds in this business. They're more disadvantages than advantages. Here in Nashville, they stopped serving all alcohol at the strip clubs. You can bring a bottle in and pay a set up fee.

When I lived in Memphis, A MAJOR club owner's nephew and I were close friends. Those who do not know D.O., thought of him as an evil guy. He did some bad things, but he did run a tight ship. In fact he scared the hell out of me a few times.

Do I visit these places.... NO. I keep my money in my wallet where it needs to stay. His "girls" told me many stories, how they tease the patrons while giving them nothing in return. Kinda like Hooters, huh?

I believe the Government should stay out of our business. I also believe Tennessee should not have helmet laws as well. I wear one, but hate the idea of some better-than-us-all figure writing laws to the effect.

One more thing, the girls would also drop names of city councilmen and women who would visit these places. Hmmmmmm?

What's the difference between a Baptist and a Catholic?.......

...... At least the Catholic will say hi to you in a liquor store.

Take Care and again My views and opinions are not that of this local radio station, it's advertisers or afilliates.

MTS, the version I heard was that Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Christ.

Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the head of the Christian Church.

And Baptists do not recognize each other in the liquor store. :D

How do you keep a Baptist from drinking all your beer when ya'll go fishin?

Bring another Baptist!

In all seriousness....

My next-door neighbors are big Christian fundamentalists. But I like them anyway.

So...I was talking to Mrs. Fundamentalist yesterday and even brought her some fertilizer I didn't need.

She told me she had a cough and "prayed about it". Apparently the Lord told her that Whiskey and sugar were OK. It worked.

You know, it is possible to be a religion fanatic without annoying the civilized world and insisting they be mindless fanatics. Of course, I think my neighbors were hippies in their day.

I guess the lesson is to not write off either the God-fearing or the heathens in their late 50's. They might be a whole lot more sensible than you are. :D

A retail liquor store I worked at a few years ago was owned by a guy whose mother was a devout baptist. One day she was sitting in her car in the parking lot. I mean she sat there for almost 45 minutes. I asked my boss the son why his mom was sitting out there like that. He started laughing and told me she was there to cash a check but would not get out of the car and come in until the store was empty. She was deathly afraid someone would see her and word would get back to the congregation that she was going in a liwuor store. This in spite of her son owning the place, which was common knowledge. lol
