T/C Encore Pro-Hunter

I have just recently purchased a T/C Encore Pro-Hunter muzzleloader. It has the Omega BDC ret. scope mounted to it. I will be sighting it in Sat Morning. I have been told different opionions and thought perhaps I would ask u guys the same question. I have been hunting with a muzzleloader for a long time using power belt sabots however I seem to have a problem getting a very good blood trail but my shots mostly are dead on. I'm wanting to try something different. Any suggestions?

You shooting three pellets or two? (150 grain magnum shot or 100 grain standard)? Same problems exist in the big bullet world as in the small, the coefficient of how fast your moving the bullet and it's structure. If you move them to slow, they don't open up. Move them to fast and they are not finished opening up when they are already exiting. If you see exit wounds but no good blood trail, your probably moving to fast and need to drop a pellet. If you don't have exit wounds, the sabot is not opening up, go up a pellet. If you've tried both, then time to find a bigger/softer hollow point and try again. Wet phone books work good to see how your bullets are opening up.

I was shooting 100 grain of powder last year but I have stepped it up to 150 grain. I bought shock waves over the weekend and sighted in the scope with it so im going to try this out and see if it makes a difference. I will give a report after next weekend...assuming I will see something to shoot at. LOL!
