Hello all, been lurking for awhile and decided to join up. If your interested some people have been signing this petition for congress and the whitehouse and see if we can get a repeal attached to H.R. 822, the “National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011â€, or other legislation.

I've read lots of thread for and against trying to take any legislative action against hughes, but we all have a duty to protect the constitution, and if we can't even get 5000 signatures then thats pretty sad. You can sign them here:

(note 2 petitions, one for congress, one for the white house):

Let me know what you think.

Also, if you memebers of any other forums pass it around please.

Look closely at that web address. It’s a scam to harvest names and emails.

Internet petitions are meaningless.

That is a link to the new "We the People"website Obummer started up to make it look like his administration actually cares about what the American people want. They say that if you can get 5,000 signatures in 30 days, the administration will officially look at the proposal and "issue an official response."

Petition the White House with We the People | The White House

I think "wwws." is a designation that it is a secure website kind of like the "https" designation.

I think you've been duped.

Well, it may be a scam to dupe you, but if so, it IS a scam by the real White House web site, and that ole trickster BHO.

You can just go to main page:

The White House

And hit the We The People box on right side a little ways down

which does indeed go to the secure:

Can't really find why the prefix is "wwws", though that usually stands for "world wide web services".

I signed the white house petition. I don't like the wording either. It sounds like guaranteed lipservice, but you have to do what you can to raise awareness. I also posted the Hughes vote video from 1986 to the griffin blog.

The petition site below is a place Silenced America LLC has posted a petition to be delivered the to DOJ, ATF, and executive and legislative branches- perhaps this one is a better forum for communicating with the government.

Please sign the petition below and repost wherever you can - it has 14 days to get the remaining 428 signatures.

The NRA also made a commitment 25 years ago to make repealing hughes a "high priority." They need to be held to their word by gun owners and NRA members like you and me.

"...said National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action Executive Director Wayne LaPierre Jr."

Gee, figure the odds.

If we've got enough broom left over after we're done sweeping the trash out of the White House, we should use what's left to sweep out the NRA.
