Was in my local pawn shop today browsing and I noticed a 1911 in the display. Looked a bit closer, it is a Star Firearms Model B 9mm dated 1935. Was soooo tempted to gob it up, as it was in pretty dang good condition, and I've been dying for a 1911 platform pistol, but I don't know anything about that company.

Does anyone have any experience with them? Are they good reliable handguns? He told me I could get it for $250 out the door, is that reasonable?(Which for a 1911 I would say so!)

Yea, think I'm going to pick her up. I've been looking around at prices, and aim surplus sells this pistol for $379.99, so $250 otd seems very reasonable. I wonder where I might find extra mags for it though

Very good pistol at a very good price. If you can afford go for it. One thing though, extra mags are not cheap, but then again, none ever are.

Aim had a small batch several month ago. You must have dig up an old page...it happens. Either way make sure it's not a Super model. Those are 9mm Largo (9x23mm).

Yea I think it was an old page, google linked me to it. I'm pretty sure it's a first gen model b which I'm assuming is just 9mm luger? If not how hard is largo to find?

One thing I just realized, is this not the gun that samuel l jackson carried in pulp fiction?
