This guy is now useless to our cause politically. Here is the letter that I mailed to Mr. Todd today on my nicest stationary:

Dear Mr. Todd,

I am a nine month pregnant NRA member and am embarrassed by your alleged behavior. You have reflected badly on law abiding citizens with carry permits, including myself. To put it bluntly, you did not hold yourself to the standards that Tennesseans deserve and I feel you should resign. I pray that your actions do not castrate any progress we have made in the gun rights arena.

Yes, he is an imbecile for doing this.

I see they are still calling it the "guns in bars" bill. No mention of the fact that it was to allow us to carry into RESTAURANTS THAT SERVE ALCOHOL.

Plagiarized from another thread:

1. Don't go STUPID places.

2. Don't do STUPID things.

3. Don't hang with STUPID people.

This will most certiaianly be used against HCP holders.

Sponsor of Tennessee bill allowing guns in bars charged with having gun while driving drunk | The Republic

Allegedly arrested for Driving while under the influence while carrying a handgun.

This is not good, at all, to have the sponsor of the bill allowing HCP holders to carry where alcohol is served, to be hit with a DWI/DUI charge while carrying a .38... Carrying while intoxicated is a misdemeanor, too.

Well, to be fair, the one we have now is a guns in bars bill also.

Not good.

I imagine this pretty much takes away any credibilty from the special commitee he was the head of to address firearms issues.

I have spoke with Rep Todd and followed him on legislation. I think he is a good person....just made a bad choice...

Although his actions are not acceptable, I am going to look at it as if he was trying to prove a point. He was allegedly drunk, had been drinking possibly in a restaurant and somehow no one was shot? This is weird to me since if we allow guns in restaurants it would turn back into the wild west. But it is truly amazing that a drunk person with a gun wasn't openly firing at people.[/sarcasm]
