IOS 5 Release Time ?

Yeah should be available today. You are correct download iTunes 10.5 first, the sometime today there will be am update available. I'd say after 8am eastern at least

Not out yet. I had to manually download by the "Check Updates" 10.5. Also, my iPhone had 16 updates this morning for my current apps. Looks like a lot, and all my major apps, are prepared for the new roll out...hopefully.

Yeah just checked, maybe by 8 am pacific? I'll probably just wait till late this evening and try to update

Apple does their roll outs around noon Pacific usually. But when it does hit, it could take hours to download due to the volume of people trying to update at the same time.

Haha. I did lie about the time. It was moving fast through the first half of the file. Then it hit a wall. Its been going for about 25 minutes now and is two thirds of the way through.

Mine was going for about 20 minutes then timed out, had to start over again...

Not worth it to me. Apple built in it's security partly for stability. I don't want to loose that. Open source is why my PC gets the blue screen if death

yeah, thats cool....its called restore....I will do a backup and play around with the jail broken version. If i don't like it, i can always change it back...

So finally got it installed. Like it so far. Not a lot of really noticeable changes unless you know about them. Definitely going to make my 4 a lot more efficient though until the 5 is released.

Uploaded the software, my 3gs is having issues updating, getting an error message that it couldn't be backed up or something, 3200 error, i've restarted, updted Itunes, and unplugged other USB devices (camera and external harddrive), but left the mouse and keyboard in. PIssing me off.

rebooting the phone to see if that will help.

Looking on the apple website forums and found this for anyone else getting a 3200 error and have upgraded iTunes, restarted and your pc is good to go.

I just got off the phone with AppleCare and was told any 3200 error messages just means the network traffic is too busy and your only choice is to keep trying again.

Had the same problem. Called Apple. They said that many people are having the problem. It has to do with the extremely high traffic on their servers right now. They suggested I try back in a few hours.

I have an unfair advantage. My job literally requires me to be on iTunes all day. I just kept click check for updates till it worked.

I've been on it all day too, but distracted by my work.....anyway, mine finally went through after about 5 or 6 attempts. My phone just restarted again, after being updated, should be good to go in a few.
