California Open Carry Banned

Recommended Posts

Again, if you want to carry a handgun within the city limits, get a permit (generically speaking now) that allows you to carry it concealed and do so - don't carry it openly. Don't scare the little children.

I have a permit. Not worried about scaring the little children. They're too smart for that. The people that wet themselves when they see a gun are almost always liberal adults. Some of us call them idiots.

Yeah, or the people in a place like a beauty shop ( ref. recent traumatic event in California).

Actually, I will have to disagree with you on the "liberal adults". I would dare say that probably a majority of adults in downtown would have concern over seeing someone openly carrying a handgun. Liberals would relish the chance to call the "law", as well as, use it as an opportunity to try to implement gun control restrictions.

Call the law? It's legal. Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure folks do it.

Don't get me wrong. I carry concealed. I don't want anybody noticing me. With that said, we have debated open carry to death on here, and OC seems to work fine for some folks.

Yeah, I think we've about used up about all the meaningful discussion at this point in time. On to another thread.

Still don't think OC is appropriate within the city limits.:D

With the OC being outlawed. Many Calif gun owners are hoping that concealed permits will be easier to obtain. I just do not see that happening in the bigger counties and cities! People are to gun paranoid out here!

Yep. Several blue states are that way. What do they call those folks again?

People still have the choice to do so in TN. We can't have people who chose to support some of our rights but not others.

So what are you suggesting??

I think he's suggesting that just because you don't like something doesn't mean you should support a law taking rights away from someone. We have the right to OC in Tennessee. You may not like it, and that's fine, but too bad; people are going to do it anyway. I don't like hippies opening their mouth and spewing their ignorance, but I support their right to do so.

Oh! I thought he might have in mind something like a "final solution".:)

I would have no intention of taking any laws away regarding OC in TN or AL. I just wish people would consider not open carrying in downtown. I would prefer that people concealed carry in downtown. Years ago, I've actually had experience OCing "downtown" (on a rather regular basis). I just don't see a need in it - stirs too many folks up. But, other than that, OC is fine with me.

That's my view and I'm allowed to have it, I think. For those who need assurances on my political views, let's just say that I'm to the "right" of center.

Uhh, not if you think people shouldn't be allowed to OC within city limits.

RINO maybe?

I deem it inappropriate and unnecessary. Just like farting at the dinner table - you can do it, but it's just inappropriate.

War Eagle!!

Crimsonaudio... get it :P

That's why I said it. Afraid he'll have his revenge later this year. But, I forgot I'm on the TGO forum too - no disrespect to the Vol fans.
