I told my father once about looking for a large, heavy knife. A while later he gave me this one he made. It was exactly what I wanted, and since he hand made it, it is my favorite.

Thats awesome, my papaw use to handmake knives, I have one that he made with a deer antler handle. I need to get some pictures up.

I have never been much of a knife person. I don't know very much about knives. I have a few pocket knives and some folding Gerber pliers. But I guess I would have to say that these are my favorite. The Buck folding pocket knife stays in my vehicle. The bigger Gerber I always take with me hiking and camping. It has cleaned many of fish though. I also bought a KA-BAR a few years ago. It has a nice holster and it fits good in my hand. I carried it a lot when I was an OTR truck driver. a6f84328-3ae4-f252.jpga6f84328-3a2d-a862.jpg

This is a knife a good friend of mine's father made me. I love everything about it. He has also made me a few leather sheaths for other fixed blade knives.

As for pocket knives, I have a benchmade, kershaw, gerber, etc, but I have always been partial to Schrade Waldens. My grandfather and I collected them from when I was very young

This may change tomorrow but this is what I'm carrying today. It's just a perfect little knife for edc carry situations.

These knives were given to my two sons by my Dad for Christmas this year. Certainly not works of exceptional craftsmanship, but definitely priceless.

First knife, given to my oldest son was made by my Grandfather (died in 1985) somewhere around 1960.

Second knife, given to my youngest son was made by my father somewhere around 1970.
