Shot my Ruger .375 this weekend...

My 14yo daughter and I went out yesterday afternoon to do a little plinking.

I took my M77 African in .375 Ruger because I have not shot it yet. I wasn't shooting for groups just to see what the recoil would be like. All I can say is Ouch! Why they would put a thin hard rubber recoil pad on a caliber that size is beyond me. I am going to have to find a better recoil pad for it. Maybe a Sims or something similar. Still, it was fun to shoot.

Did you ever find a good recoil pad? I’m looking for one for my 700 VLS.

It's nice to hear about taking your daughter along. I'm looking into purchasing a little .22 for my 9 year old daughter. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go with a bolt action or automatic. As of now, I'm leaning towards the bolt for some reason.

Henry make a lever action 22 that is a blast to shoot. It has turned into one of her, and my, favorite guns to shoot. Inexpensive, accurate and fun to shoot. What more could ask for...

I love bolt actions for younger, and newer, shooters.

One at a time, nice and easy and easy for me to know how many have been fired, etc etc...
