While I would love to pick up a gsg 1911 or 22/45 to plink with, those are out of my budget for now. What other suggestions do you have?

TIA

Bersa/Firestorm 22. Fairly inexpensive, durable, reliable, accurate, concealable, comfortable.

I might mention that I like my Bersa...... Also like Neos U22, but sometimes she's a bit picky on ammo.

Any of the Ruger MK series, Browning Buckmark, Beretta Neos... There's a couple of revolvers as well, but I can't think the name at the moment.

You can't get much more inexpensive than a Phoenix Arms HP22. You can find them used for around $100. They are surprisingly fun to shoot, but a pain to clean.

but a pain to clean.

Take off the grips, drop the gun in kerosene, wait, remove, blow out with compressed air, enjoy.

This works well for the MK series too.

These are fine guns from the few I have shot, easily dead on at 15 -20 yards with cheap ammo for the longer barrel version/option.

I have the Neos. While it's nifty, and VERY easy to disassemble, the trigger can't hold a candle to the Ruger MK models. No way even the best shooter can be as accurate with it compared to the Rugers, not even in the neighborhood of the ballpark.

Agreed. I just got a neos and while a great little plinker for the money and how easy it is to clean, it is no where near the tack driver that a ruger MK is.

I have to root for the Heritage Rough Rider.

For a cheap plinker, it is some of the most fun I have at the range. Shoots anything and hits what I aim at.

Another vote for the Heritage Rough Rider. It doesn't have the fit and finish of a more expensive gun, but has a smooth action and shoots great.
