All of the a fore mentioned pistols are great and would be fun to shoot. My experience is using the Ruger 22/45 with fiber optic sights, I have the Browning Buckmark Camper 5.5" bull barrel with fiber optic sights, and the Walther P22 is for my bride!! They are all fun to shoot. The Walther is a pinking pistol, but the other two are serious target pistols that can be accessorized for anything you want for serious target shooting. (the fiber optics are for my aging eyes!!) Final word, go to your local gun store and look over what I and the others posting to this thread have mentioned and see what works for you. HAPPY TARGET SHOOTING!!!

Another great .22 is the SIG Trailside. They were made by Hammerli for SIG. Thay can be had used between 400-500 dollars.

The pistol is still made by Hammerli as the Xesse .22 starting around 800.00. As mentioned before there are alot of Hi-Standards around 250-500. Rugers are good but thay have to be tweaked.

I have a Norinco copy of a Walter Olympia. It shoots better than I can. A lot of bang for the buck.

Colt Woodsman, most any High Standard semi auto, Smith and Wesson 41, Smith and wesson model 17. Hammereli makes some nice competition grade 22 target pistols.

The Ruger just doesn't fit my hand well, I suspect it's much like those of us that don't care for Glocks though.

I prefer the Browning BuckMark.

I've had a Ruger MKII stainless with a bull barrel for about the last 12 years. I'm very happy with it and would never sell it. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the ruger .22's

I've got both the Ruger 22/45 threaded barrel and the MK III Stainless Hunter. Love them both, reliable, dependable, accurate, great feel and FUN TO SHOOT! Bought them both new the 22/45 = $306.00 and the MK III Stainless was $460.00, got them from Owensboro, KY
