Members of Law Enforcement & Officers of the Court. Pass this around to Handgun Permit Holders so they can tell others. Also take to your local newspaper. Don't forget to ask your Chief of Police and your County Sheriff what there position is on this issue.

LA....I'm not saying that I doubt you by any means, but where have you gotten your information from that this letter from the TSA was released pre-maturely? I'm just thinking that it would be handy to have this information as well, when one presents the info you wrote on your website to someone.

I called the Tennessee Public Safety Coalition [the number on their letterhead]. No answer & some type of message system. I wanted to know where the location was that was tied into the telephone #. I called a friend of mine that works 'covert' outside the state of Tennessee. I called in a favor & he traced the call to the same location as the 'Chief of Police Association'. Then I contaced the Tennessee Sheriff's Association to ask why they oppose the bill. I was told they did not and why was I asking. I told them about the letter. I called back a short time later & they faxed a copy of the letter to every Tennessee Sheriff. I have personally contacted a number of Tennessee Sheriffs to see if they will address this issue. Here is one of the many letters I hope to receive from Sheriff's in Tennessee who feel the same way as Sheriff Tom Wall.

I can't do this alone. I ask that each of you contact the Chief of Police in your City and your County Sheriff to ask their position on this issue. If they do not object to legally armed citizens who do not drink but carry their handgun into a restaurant, they need to say so in a letter, e-mail, or on a peice of paper they sign, so we can publish it. There will be a page on www.legallyarmed.com that lists all 95 Sheriffs in Tennessee and their position on this issue. The same will be done for every Chief of Police. The D.A.'s are not worth the time becauase they are attorneys and qwe will get into some verbal or legal fight over the issue. The General Public will be interested in what law enforcment officers say on this matter.

There is going to be another bill introduced in the Senate this week on this issue. Lets get this provision passed this session.
