Sorry to revive an old thread, but this is still an ongoing issue in Georgia. See: http://www.georgiapacking.org/forum/showthread.php?t=254280

Here are the FACTS:

1. It is not a gun crime if you carry a firearm in Centennial Olympic Park with a valid weapons license.

2. The park is owned by the state. It is overseen by the Georgia World Congress Center Authority, which is a state created entity.

3. Signs do not carry weight of law in Georgia.

3. The GWCCA has emailed me that they feel they can trespass a weapons carrier even if they have a license.

4. They are misusing a part of Georgia law regarding persons in control of property. The state is not allowed to do this as an "inside job" in order to get around SB308.

5. I have an open records request in to the state to gather information on exactly what transpired between the state and GWCCA.

6. If needed, we will sue the GWCCA.

7. This will be resolved in our favor...soon.

Interesting information, but I believe the original post was referring to the Centennial Park in Nashville, TN. :)

Go to Bicentennial Park, it is a state park so you are good to carry there. It is over by the Capital and it is pretty nice.

All Metro Parks are off-limits by city ordinance...posted or not.

There seems to be some gray area over whether or not the city ordinance would stand up to a challenge if the park wasn't also posted in accordance with TCA 39-17-1359. Personally, I think Nashville's politics would win over any of us.

A note (I'm sure you just weren't thinking): 1359 doesn't cover parks, they're under 39-17-1311, with harsher penalty.
