Just curious on opinions:

1. Do you think she was involved?

2. What are your opinions on how Italian law enforcement handled their investigation into her?

My opinion, I've read a lot on this and I think she was convicted for being an American.

I really haven't studied it too hard, but the evidence was pretty flimsy. I do agree, her being American probably had a lot to do with her conviction.

You usually wind up in trouble when you tell multiple lies to investigators.

After watching an hour long special on the whole thing, seems the prosecutor should be in prison for sure, regardless of whether Knox and/or Sollecito had any culpability in the matter.

I don't know if she was involved or not, but it seemed like being an American in a foreign court system had a lot to with how things went down originally.

My opinion is that italian LE could have done a better job, but I am in the mindset that everyone everywhere has room for improvement (although some more than others). No one is perfect.

Can you imagine what would happen if this occurred in the US?... Lying and telling her she has HIV in order to learn her sexual history, just to turn around and use it against her in court. She could drove drunk into a daycare center, shot and elderly person and clubbed a baby seal and the case would be thrown out, followed by all kinds of civil suits.

Who needs evidence in this day and age. The court of public opinion rules!

Not always. One needs to look no further than the Casey Anthony trial to see the court still functions properly in the face of unbelievable public pressure.

The prosecutor is going to prison for falsifying evidence, and forcing her to change her story. From what i've read, they told her Socellito was going to get the death penalty if she didn't cooperate and change her story, she did it to spare his life, an act of honor and courage, and very unselfish on her part. Props to her, because I'd have looked out for myself.

The thing that gets me, is that this prosecutor was still allowed to handle her appeal, even after the Italian Government found out he planted evidence and strong armed a confession out of her. Unbelievable.

The whole investigation was a farce, the evidence didn't link her in any way, the DNA was tainted. Really sad to see this happen, hopefully she can move on her with life now that she's free to go home back to her family.

As I understand it so far, he has only been convicted of "abuse of office" early in 2010, got 16 month suspended sentence, and this was not in connection with Knox's case, had to do with wiretapping some folks.

You've made this statement twice -- is there updated news, or just your prediction?

i heard a lady at the VA Hospital while I was up there getting a prescription refilled, talking about it, she said he was going to prison. guess I should check my facts before I repeat hearsay. I'll see if I can find anything.

the lady I heard talking probably didn't hear or understand that it was a suspended sentence.

but I'm still baffled as to why they would let this guy continue to keep his position when it's clear he has a history of misconduct. they should have at least forced him to recuse himself from this case, and turn it over to someone else with no ties to him to be fair and impartial to Amanda Knox.

Again, his conviction had nothing to do specifically with the Knox case.

The fact I said he should be in prison re the Knox case is my opinion only; he hasn't been charged with any misconduct regarding it.

i know, i'm merely saying since he had wrong doing in another case, and with all the loopholes in this case, he should have been required to recuse himself.

if he'll do it in once case, why wouldn't he do it in another?

Posting with out reading everyone else comments here.

I formed an opinion early on and then I really did not follow it in the news.

I am writing this from memory as well.

I believed her story, their legal system is totally different then ours. I don't know if this is true or not but I remember back then it seems they said She was interrogated for hours with out sleep and food or legal aid until they got a story they wanted.

I am inclined to believe she would not have been convicted if the trial was held in an American court with American laws. I don't believe she is guilty.

Amanda Knox was interrogated repeatedly in the five days
Amanda did not have a lawyer present during her interrogation.
Physical force was also used on Amanda and she was lied to intentionally to make her believe the police had evidence against her.
