American foreign exchange student Amanda Knox who was found guilty of murdering her roommate has won an appeal in an Italian courtoom today and her murder conviction was overturned. Don't have a link because I'm posting from my cell phone, but this is great news for Amanda Knox, her family and friends.

I can't say if she really is guilty or innocent, obviously her appeal worked, but I'd hate for anyone to have to do time in a foreign prison regardless, especially on such flimsy evidence.

The prosecutor is going to jail. He planted evidence to frame her, then they told her that sollecito would get the death penalty if she didn't change her story, so she changed it to spare his life. Talk about an act of honor and courage. I wouldn't have done that for someone else, especially if I was facing murder charges, I'd be looking out for my skin and to heck with everyone else. The evidence was all bs, the case had more holes in it than the denver broncos pass defense had the past 5 seasons. I'm glad she won on appeal and can now go home to her family and finish her education and move on with her life.

Italian jury clears American Amanda Knox of murder - CNN.com

I happy for her. Something inside me believed her from the beginning which is odd. When I heard how they interrogated her to get any so called evidence I knew it would never stand up in an American court but I knew she would have a fight on her hands in any other country. Turns out she had a 4 year fight.

See other thread, really erroneous info, although certainly, the prosecutor was overzealous to the max and does have a conviction for abuse of office on a previously unrelated investigation.

Btw, it's pretty likely she was there when her roomie was killed; at the least she knows the true story (several US commentators concur, along with Fox's awesome Andrew Nepalitano . Certainly, she (and her boyfriend) may well have had a hand in it.

But like the Anthony saga, the actual evidence was simply not there to convict her -- in particular, the forensics were totally screwed up or overblown beyond any sense of veracity.

What I take from this whole story is, Parents be very carefull in letting you children go overseas to study, be sure they understand the standards of justice are far different than here in the good ole USA

My gut tells me that she probably at least knew what happened, if she wasn't directly involved. Having said that, the case against her was completely without merit. There were way too many flaws to ever get a conviction in the US. I hope my gut is wrong and that she is truly innocent.

Please see "The West Memphis Three." Like they say in the UFC, never leave it in the hands of the judges.
