There's little doubt that the world is better off since this guy assumed room temperature, but how do you feel about the U.S. military killing a U.S. citizens who've never been tried nor convicted of any crime? I can see this potentially getting out of hand in the not so distant future.

I've always had an uneasy feeling about the Waco Texas ordeal, and to be honest, this doesn't sit quite right with me either. Let's hear your view.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to miss him. I just see the scenerio unfolding in the future where some of us "gun nut internet types cling to our guns and religion" are accused of plotting against the government, and suffering the same fate. I also picture the same apathy being shown toward us.

You can make outrageous statements about anything; that doesn’t make them true or even have a hint of being based in reality. Your statements are no more reasonable than the gun haters making their outrageous claims. How you get from killing a terrorist that is a creditable on-going threat to killing gun owners is beyond me. I also don’t see how you are making any kind of logical connection to Wako, unless you are just generally complaining about any government action.

If you think the military did something illegal; that can be addressed. I’m sure that in the millions of pages of legal code, there is authorization for what happened.

If you want to make a Constitutional law argument; you would be wrong. If you want to argue what our founding father intended; you would be wrong there also. They would have ask him to surrender and we he refused they would have killed him.

You have made many statements about how you would kill anyone that presented a threat to you or your family. So why all the hand wringing now? Do you need to talk to the some of the family members of Americans this terrorist has killed?

All these terrorists know there is a standing order to kill them. If they want a trial in court they can surrender.

I support our government’s actions in killing these terrorists.

Nothing about war should be fair or just. It should be brutal bloodbath with extreme prejudice that will make anyone think twice before entering into war before exhausting all other possibilities.

Seems to me to be a very long stretch to compare you/us to an avowed terrorist. These weren't unjust accusations against Awlaki. If you haven't done anything illegal then you shouldn't have anything to worry about, don't you think?

Did you guys check this out?

I'm not a military veteran, and I don't care what skin color my president sports, but aside from that, they have me pegged pretty close. How about you?

I do value each of your opinions. Thanks for sharing.

Does that surprise you? You are a radical that openly posts anti-govemnet rhetoric. Many here have shown that they would be ripe targets (especially the young) for a terrorist or anti-government militia group. They don’t understand the laws or the Constitution, but if someone can convince them they are defending the Constitution; they can justify (in their own minds) being criminals.

There is a big difference between us (gun nuts) and that scumbag. I think most of the gun nuts are disgusted with the government right now, and pretty vocal about it. Doesn't make us a threat. Besides, there's WAY too many of us.

Would there ever be a point where you would oppose a tyrannical government? We're not there yet, but it appears to me we are headed down that path.

My opinion, 2A is included for both that purpose and for common defense against foreign invader. Jefferson's writings support the notion.

Has nothing to do with simple individual ownership of firearms for self-protection and hunting. The founders never thought it would be necessary to iterate that right, any more than mention right to own a knife, fishing rod, axe, or hoe.

I think there is already a precedent for this. He was a US citizen that declared war against the US, which in some ways is not unlike the Civil War, which was made up of US citizens declaring war against each other. Neither the North or South did not put on trial every combatant they killed. They may had if surrenders were given.

Very good point. That really clears it up for me.

F that he renounced his us citizenship and encouraged others to wage war against us. He is no more a US citizen then osama was. The penalty for treason is death.

That's certainly how it's supposed to be. Governments are stronger when they toe the line.

This man was a traitor and actively engaged in terrorist activities toward the United States during a time of war (We are at War, remember?) He is an ENEMY and killing is justified. If Bush had done this he would now be praised as a hero, since Obama did it we are discussing this stupid logic. Governments don't toe any line during war. Governments kill people during war, sometimes theirs and sometimes ours. That is a lesson that war-loving civilian hawks need to learn when they are so eager to send young men off to war. You are not there to win "hearts and minds" you are there to murder people: men, women and kids. There is no right or wrong, just death. I killed and I sleep like a baby, it was part of my job. There is no morality in war.

Baseless assumption. Who is in the WH has nothing to do with my opinion.

Thank you for your service.

Amen I dont' care about his due process but I do of the thousand's civilans kill by those like him hiding and waging a war on those , he ran to other side aided them in their cause. As for those coming for us I wont use kids or women to kill or bomb a home or business, but I will fight for myself and I dont think I will be alone . This war wont stop unless they kill us all or we convert to Islam , best thing we can do is come home and build us a defence that they cant get thru and when they hurt us go hit them 10 fold and return home . No country building if they what a system like ours they can get it the same way we got ours (Sorry for spelling)

First, where are you getting your information he had declared war on the US? From some unnamed government source in a news report?

Second, people killed in the civil war (with the exceptions of spies) were killed on the battlefield normally engaged in acts of war, not 1,000's of miles away from the battlefield driving in a car/wagon.

And I wouldn't hold the despot Lincoln's actions up as a standard to live by, he did more harm to the constitution and liberty than any other President in the history of our country.
