Confusion leads to man bringing guns on Air Canada flight

Recommended Posts

This doesn't seem to fit anywhere so I'll place it here. A man with two pistols, including a Glock 22, wanted to fly from British Columbia to Ontario to participate in a shooting competition.

Haight made his way through security, where officials told him not to walk through the metal detector but asked to see his badge. He said he didn't have one, since he was not a police officer. Instead, he showed his possession and acquisition licence that, as Haight points out, looks more like a driver's licence than a badge.

"They proceeded me onto the plane," Haight said. "I then was looking around and wondering why are they letting me on here with two pistols in a briefcase?"

It gets better. I mean worse. Read the story:

Man, if Canada had their own Gestapo, I mean TSA, this would have never happened.....:D At least he wasn't actually charged with anything. I'm sure if that happened here he'd be on his way to Gitmo right about now.

I wonder why a guy who apparently knew he wasn't authorized to carry his guns on a plane did so anyway.

Because everyone that would have told him otherwise told him to carry it on the plane.
