He just had a premature discharge. At least this one has the credibility of a news story attached to it. :D

Officers say it happened when the 48-year-old man and his date returned to the car after eating dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House.

"The victim advised that he was reaching for his gun which was chained up in a bicycle lock underneath the car seat," a Charlotte police report said. "The victim advised that the gun accidentally went off as he was pulling on the gun which shot him in the left leg."

Police say the injury was serious, but not life-threatening.

What kind of moron loops a bicycle lock through the trigger guard of a loaded pistol?

The kind that then proceeds to shoot himself with said pistol.

I believe all Ruth's Chris are no carry zones. If they weren't he probably would have had it in a holster. I do totally agree he is an idiot to put a lock through the trigger guard of a loaded gun. I have to admit that stories like this is why I like thumb safeties like on a 1911.

Lol probably blew $200 on a dinner to impress the lady, all wasted. Ive only been once, on the company dime (boss was rather upset) and it was easily $60 per person for us and we didnt get much in the way of drinks.

Hmmm.

Nope, don't care. I used to think I did, but I was mistaken. All these idiots get exactly what they deserve when they refuse to observe good discipline. They get shot. Good enough for them.

New Gun - $350

Bike Lock - $ 25

Dinner Date- 190

Shooting yourself while retriving your locked gun - PRICELESS!

Three things could have prevented this.

1. Don’t go to restaurant that doesn’t allow guns.

2. Don’t take you gun if you are going to a restaurant like that.

3. Don’t lock your loaded gun up with a bicycle lock.

Well, in NC you can't carry in a resturant that serves drinks. So he HAD to disarm. Just like a bank or it actually says "finanacial instution" is off limits.

I have disarmed before when going somwhere posted, the trick is to leave the dang gun in a holster. or if using a bike lock to empty the chamber
