Best route from Franklin to Pigeon Forge on a UT football weekend

I normally go straight over on I-40E, but UT has a home game on the weekend we're going to PF and I don't want to get caught in that Saturday traffic. The schedule doesn't indicate a kickoff time, but I'm not sure that even matters as far as traffic is concerned.

So what's the best alternate route? The wife wants to stop in Crossville on the way, but we may have to do that on the way back.

The game is at 12:30 but if you leave early enough and take 640 around Knoxville avoiding downtown you should be OK.

Other than that you could go down 75 to Lenoir City, take 321 through Maryville and continue on right into PF on Wears Valley Rd.

In my experience pre game traffic isn't that big of a deal (on the interstate) because people tend to trickle in. Now post game is a whole different story because everyone pours out at once.

Leave early enough and it isn't a problem.

Leaving early isn't a problem; it's getting her back in the car at Crossville that's a problem. :D

This. I'd rather do this than deal with Sevierville, Pigeon Forge traffic any day. You come in past the Kroger at traffic light 5 if I'm remembering right.

Ok, Drive to lebanon Airport, Pull out your airplane. Fly to Downtown Island Airport, use the courtesy van. See the game, Drive back to Downtown Island airport, give back the courtesy van. Hop in airplane fly back to Lebanon . . . that's how I go :D

This is the only way we go any more. I just can't stand the traffic going across 40 and getting off at exit 407.

Also this game won't be as packed less parents coming due to all of the students leaving for fall break.

I think this this best route, but you can also take 411 (sevierville road) out of Maryville to 441/411 ( Chapman highway) and it takes you into Sevierville

Then, before you hit Sevierville on Chapman, turn on White School Rd for the win. This will take you behind the scenes of Sevierville and Pigeon Forge depending on where you exactly want to go. Mark this route for rod run traffic.

Yep, that connects to Goose Gap Rd, takes you all the way to Walden's Creek Rd, go left short distance to Wears Valley Rd, and you're at PF city limits.

96 to 70 to 321 then wears valley or little river road to bypass. ( its a better view than 40 but not faster )

can get on and off at at Crossville easy enough

I hope these roads have gotten better since I've been on them LOL 50 years ago My family farm was located on Rogers lane ( named after my family it was on the left before White school rd ) yes this another good route not many people know about. The bad thing about Wears valley (321) is this time a year alot of campers and if you get behind a slow one it makes for a long trip.

They're good enough. Wore them down some for 3 years with FedEx truck, though. :P
