We have a pretty laid back range day. Not everyone is interested in competing, most are there just to shoot and meet each other. Phantom always has something cool going for those who do like to compete, too.

Dotsun pretty well nailed it.

I am not into IDPA, just does not interest me even little.

I am curious, do you not need to be a member there?

No. To shoot any of the action pistol matches just show up on Saturday. We have Steel Challenge,IDPA,Cowboy, and my favorite, IPSC/USPSA. To be able to have full use of all facilities, you have to be a member. $120.00 yr. and its well worth it. I agree about IDPA, its just not interesting/fun enough for me. Steel Challenge is stand in a 3x3 box and shoot 5 runs on 5 steel as fast as you can. Alot of shootin' in this game. IPSC is run and gun(not always) and offers you the options of shooting a stage in any possible way you can think of. It's a laid back atmosphere but alot of us are very competitive. Come on out on the 3rd Sat of the month and give IPSC a try, you will be hooked after the first match.

Check out the vids. It will give you a beeter idea of IPSC

I'm sure it's loads of fun, but it still wouldn't give me what I get from the TGO meets. Most of the guys bring all kinds of guns. Some zero rifles, we shoot clays, pistolas going on in another area, 1 crazy guy even shoots BP. I just can't get that at an IPSC shoot. Maybe you should come out and meet your fellow board members and see what I mean.

Well guys,

I'm back in Tn. In Chattanooga no less. hopefully I'll be here for awhile. I don't know if I'll be able to make the meet though.

hang in there guys and have fun! take lots of pictures!

:D

Well if hes lucky we will let him shoot with us :)

HA!

I'm Irish, I don't have that kind of luck..more of the potato famine type of luck. I will be working, most likely...but I can always hope!

My wife on the other hand, will have time. she's travelling with me these days. If she's not doing her per diem Nursing, then chances are good that she'd be able to make it out to a shoot.

Cody, Volk is not going to come to our shoot dude. Did he email you back and say he was coming? As far as I know he has never joined TGO.

Tower if you are in the Noog what excuse do you have for not making a 90 minute trip up the road?

an 80 hour work week? :D

Julie might make it though.

How come you guys never come out and shoot a action pistol match for one of your meets at ORSA? Not trying to ruffle any feathers, just wondering....

DaG

I did once.....

Hey, if everyone is going to be doing black powder, I can grab gramp's Knight, though I'd have ot buy all new stuff for it since everything for it is 20+ years old.

Hey, a little recoil never hurt anybody. Well, not permanently, anyway.

I'm hoping for a couple weeks at home in July. CAS, a knight? Inline?

OK guys, It's crunch time. What's the deal for the 19th? Are we eating prior to shooting or what? The grill is still out at the range but the burners have deterioriated over the winter and until I can get it fixed it's really not good for much other than boiling water or cooking soup or gumbo over it's single very large flame.

As far as where to eat, Big Ed's is still there but there is also the Soup Kitchen, a great little Bar-B-Q place who's name escapes me at the moment, Shoneys, Buddy's Bar-B-Q, The Riverside Grill, The Magnolia Tree and others.

Cody, I don't think the jello block is gonna do much but you are welcome to bring it and do a test shot up in the woods just off of the range. I think that baloons filled with air and a bit of talcom powder or flower would give you better visable results but it's up to you. If Suntzu will bring that shotty by I'll bring it out to the range for you.

Y'all let me know what you want to do so I can complete range plans for the shoot.

Mark: I have no idea, other than it's a .50

Phantom: I've been thinking. A milk jug full of water hit with a .30-06 should look spectacular, right? As long as I clean up all the pieces.

I vote for Big Eds @ 11

Shoot @ 12:30

but I am open to anything else.

Dotsun why don't you bring them Atlantians with you?

Guys, I will be out for a few months. It's teeball season, and all of my Saturdays are booked up for a while. We might have a few early mid-morning games that would allow me to make it over a little later in the afternoon, but we'll just have to see how the game schedule works out. You guys have a blast, and sling a few rounds downrange for me.

Have I missed it? What time do we start shooting?

Posted

col, we have not hammered out the final details yet. Check back often to see if it has sorted out.

Shoot is 100% for sure happening at Phantoms range out near OR.

We are still working out eating and/or shooting starting times.

If I hear no other information I will be at the range by 10:30.

I just joined recently and I read through the posts here regarding the meet and greet. If it is not a private meet I would be intrested in joining you all. If the event is at the Sterling range I live just two or three miles up the road from the directions given.
