open carry your gun californias AB144 ban on open carry can even make felons of cops - YouTube

Hopefully this isn't a repost. Makes me sick. Obviously I'm preaching to the choir here, but THIS is why we don't endorse registration.

Amen.

One comment: video is mislabeled on YouTube, though, has nothing to do with open carry.

Although the ban on (unloaded, no less) open carry HAS been passed by the legislature there, the bill is sitting on Moonbeam's desk, whether he'll sign it or not seems anybody's guess.

Yeah, the open carry ban looks like it will likely come into effect. My understanding is that if there's no veto within 12 days of passage (that should be right about now by my calendar), then the bill becomes law? ****ing disgusting.

Something like that. 10 days in TN, forget whether weekends/holidays count.

Moonbeam is a gun owner, but seems to be one of those "I only have hunting rifles and shotguns so I don't care about all you Rambos, they'll never take mine away" types.

No, no, no - if California goes away, the moonbeams won't have a centralized location to gather. California is a much-needed libtard magnet...

Agreed, we need a place for them to focus their energy. With that said I will do everything in my power to never live in that state. Which is a shame because there are some truly beautiful places there.

Yeah, but if it falls in to the ocean, MOST of the moonbeams will be gone!

California is an absolutely beautiful state, but I'd never live there. My brother-in-law, who lives a bit north of San Fran, has offered me more than once a very well paying position in his electrical contractor company, and I've turned him down each time on the grounds that I will not live in a state where the politicians are so removed from reality, you might as well be living in a different country.

There, I corrected that for you.

Hardly. Most of the whackos are centered in a few specific areas and unfortunately have the numbers and power to elect the politicians, but the people by and large are just like the rest of us.

Yep, it's very strange. Small town Kali is generally somewhat right of center just like the rest of the nation polled individually, but LA and SF lunacy drive the politics -- equate to Chicago pummeling the rest of Illinois.

If I moved to Ca. I could double my Pay check doing the same line of work I am doing now, however, I don't want to live there.

I suspect cost of living might double (or more) too.

My wife and I just moved here after 44 years in California. Calif., has gone down the toilet in many ways. Taxes will go up again! Housing prices are almost unaffordable. Gasoline is almost a dollar more per gallon! Illegal aliens are now getting a "Free college education", that was signed into law!

California is not the place to visit or live!

It's a shame, there's some beautiful country I would like to see in California, don't care at all about the cities. I'll never go simply because of the politics there as with some other places in the New England area.

Pardon my bluntness, but that's completely silly. Don't deny yourself or your family the opportunity to travel to some of the most beautiful and awesome places in this country just because of stuff like that. That's like judging all of Tennessee for the criminals and crooks in Cocke County, or for the ignorance and backwardness of legislators pushing the "Don't Say Gay" bill that's out right now.

I've traveled extensively in just about all of California and all of New England. Aside from the beautiful scenery and things to do, as others pointed out, there are plenty of good, normal people, and plenty of them are shooters. I moved to TN from New England just this past summer, and I will tell you right now that there are a considerable number of serious shooters in New England.

Vilifying the place is exactly the same as vilifying the gun instead of the criminal. Just my $0.02.

Northern California has some of the most beautiful land on earth. Great part of the country.

I'm going to be traveling to LA on business next week - not really looking forward to it, but there are worse places to visit...

Indeed.

Last spring I was out in the San Francisco Bay area for about 5 days and had my wife tag along. Yeah, the Berkeley area would freak out a lot of people on this site, but it's an amazing place to visit. Drive north or south for an hour along the Pacific coast on some of the best driving roads you'll experience. To the north just an hour or so, Point Reyes is just plain amazing. One of the days we drove East toward the mountains and you really get out into the country quickly. We spent the day at Yosemite National Park, had dinner at the lodge and were back in the city in time for drinks and late dessert.

For your trip to LA, if you have some free time there are some cool places to check out for sure. PM me if you need help on some ideas. Last time I was in town I didn't have a ton of free time but managed to visit out the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

I truly love San Francisco, spent some great times there as a young man. Truly a beautiful and alive place.

And a straight guy's nookie paradise. :D

I never said there wasn't good people from California or New England I know some and i'm sure there's alot more. It's hard enough to tolerate the politics here much less in a more socialist state like California or Massachusetts. Since I wont fly anymore I don't want to be arrested on a firearms charge so I wont be traveling through states that don't honor my TN permit. I plan on driving to South Dakota to see the Badlands and Deadwood so I will avoid Illinoise for that reason.

Being in school to be a police officer, I've already made a decision about several states I would refuse to work in. The short story is that this decision centers around the fact that I refuse to enforce laws I myself would hardly be able to stand as a citizen of any of these states. Aside from that list of mostly extremely liberal coastal states I'll go to work for the first person who's willing to hire me. I must admit I would like to visit California sometime, as they have a massive amount of very good microbreweries coming out of the state.
