Bow hunting...

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love to shoot a bow...

It is one of my favorite past times.

Being a transplant from another state and not having any family here that hunts/owns land....I have found it very difficult to find a spot to hunt. I have tried public land a few times to no avail. I became friends with a guy w/ 56 acres and then the following year/season he had to move away!!! so that was gone!!! I have shot in plenty of tourneys and at alot of paper and foam!

i have taken birds....squirrels...rabbits....moles...with my bow but in the 4 years I have been into bow hunting, NEVER A DEER!!! yea yea poor pitiful me...

((let me add that I have taken several deer with my rifle....just never a bow, which is what I long to do more than anything!!))

Any tips or advice how to land a good spot...or any local/public land that holds promise??

any help would be appreciated....doing this alone has been harder than I thought.

Thanks

RD

Finding land to lease in TN is harder than any other state I have lived or hunted in. There are a lot of hunting clubs, but that's not what I prefer. What part of East TN?

I usually hunt the WMAs and use google maps to "scout" for likely funnels and water holes away from the main trail.
