Need to read a great piece of case law - People vs Holmes.

Long story short, out of state permit holder came through Chicago with an unloaded weapon in his backseat armrest.

Turns out that an out of state permit = IL FOID and all the magical things that allows you to do.

If you've ever gone through Illinois or have considered doing so, you REALLY need to read this.. and read it all the way through. A LOT of good stuff in there!!

Thanks for posting, feeling much better now. Getting ready to take our Holiday vacation to WI, but have to go through IL. The good news is I will be one of the few people legally carrying in WI, since they just passed the carry law. Most folks from that state won't yet have their license yet.

Tuesday, btw, in case you get there before. :)

There is now a big flap over permits in Wisc, since the state DOJ has issued some new fairly onerous "rules" for residents to get permits there. Sounds like only non residents with recognized permits will be legally carrying there for some time unless something changes in a hurry!
