this is copied and paste from another forum, but it is just WOW! he did not spot for me but i do remember seeing him spot for the guy next to me. i just wish i knew his story then.

Yes, Dakota was helping out down on the LaRue demo range, it is amazing in the shooting sports how many decorated and undecorated heros we have a chance to walk among every match, and most are the true salt of the earth and the best people you could ever want to know. I am honored and blessed to have known so many of you, some dating back to vietnam, others more recent. Ours is truly a unique sport that offers opportunities to test ourselves against the worlds best and socialize with them as well, I can think of no other sport that has so many of our nations patriots, military, LE, Firefighters, etc all collected in one friendly playing field as ours.

We were just talking about Medal of Honor's the other day at work. So I decided to look it up and they are entitled to lots of neat stuff.

One of the nicest "benefits" IMO is that their children can be accepted into any military academy bypassing the standard nomination and quota process.

He was interviewed on 60 minutes tonight and there was a nice article in the Tennessean today. The definition of the word "hero". And like so many others, he doesn't consider himself one.

i forgot to tell this, but James reminded me about it. and watched this also. after i was done shooting the 1k i got up thank my spotter because was very happy to hit at 1K again after so very many years.

but i do not know why, for fun or his shooters were having trouble but, he picked up the 308 AR with a bipod standing unsupported took a shot or 2 hitting the 1K target and simply said yep it is on.

i do not think shooting 1K is as hard as most poeple think, prone supposed with a bipod or sand bag. but standing unsupported holy S--T, now that is some thing!
