I did not hear it all, but I heard something like they allow twice as much arsenic in apple juice as they allow in drinking water, but they are finding 3 times as much.

They said the source of allot of the apple concentrate is China were they use arsenic in pesticides. So in short, another product they allow China to import to us that would be illegal if home grown.

Is there any wonder why American Business has trouble keeping up with Chinese products.

Anything that is imported should have to past our safety standards at the very least.

Hell, I have been for import tariffs for years but that is another subject.

BTW, I was watching WBXX out of Knoxville when they told that about the Arsenic, the 10 PM news.

I was reading about this earlier. Dr. OZ from tv fame had some tested in a lab in NJ, and they found these higher arsenic levels. The FDA of course, says those tests were faulty and these results are inaccurate. Since I have no trust in the government I will listen the Great OZ.

This is why I only drink booze.

Believe the mass media or the government.... ? Now that's a tough one.

Yeah OZ said it! It has to be true!

I've been drinking apple juice all my life and feel great about it, we all **** a brick about something like this while choking back a mountain dew. I would bet we eat and drink a lot of unhealthy things with trace amounts of poison in them and a car wreck will kill most of us some day.

my Marketing teacher was talking about this yesterday in class. The FDA allows so many parts of arsenic for every so many million parts of water for the standard allowance of harmful chemicals in food and drinking water.

so don't get all excited because there's double the # parts of arsenic per x million parts of apple juice than there is in water. you're not gonna die and get sick. The media is just using it to get people excited and worked into a panic because there's double!!! oh no!

besides, it's been said that the test didn't differentiate between naturally organic arsenic which is not harmful and man produced arsenic from chemical sprays.

Its just my weird sense of irony but it strikes me 'funny' that arsenic is allowed in apple juice. The reason is that it makes me wonder how much cyanide is allowed in apple juice? I wonder that because apple seeds naturally contain cyanide.
