MCTS 3-Gun Match on October 1, 2011

Looking at the COFs and the changes necessary to change from IDPA scoring vs IMA, I have not changed the stages. Robert's intent is not to run the match with retaining mags as reload when needed outlaw style. This is neither IMA nor IDPA DMG. No need to download mags(especially for you broox because we all know you need the extra rounds).

Less talky, more shooty!! :stare: Seriously... the scoring isn't that big of a deal, just know what it is before the first stage, and shoot what they tell you to shoot the number of times they tell you to shoot it. It looks like I'll make it, still bringing the heavy metal gear, sorry about the noise!

Good to hear. It is hard to please everyone in our type of outlaw matches. Noise.......that is why everyone wear hearing protection.

Ryan is upset because he got beat by a girl at the pro-am.

Our typical matches are as following:

35 yrds maximum on pistol / 150 yrds maximum on rifle / 75 to 100 yrds maximum on slugs / 15 yrds maximum birdshot

With that being said, I have no idea what the MD has in store for this match in regards to distance. Steel targets should not be shot at with pistol within 10 yrds and in order not to penetrate the steel with rifle calibers (small - .223) 100yrds (large - 30-06 / 308) 125 to 150 yrds.

Mike, What is your max sighting distance. I'll push it 10yds past that....... Really I will keep the rifle within 75 yrds, slugs about 20-40 yrds. I don't have a problem with the any 2 hit kill scoring or 1 A zone, I may go with that on match day. These COF's are from my files and I have not had anytime to make adjustments.

I vote for 2 hits with .223, 1 hit with 7.62x39. 1 hit with a .308 neutralizes the target and the target on either side. Any competitor using a .308, pump shotgun, and a single stack .45 may neutralize targets with a growl or aggressive look. ;)

Of course now I just spent an hour in my basement trying to get my red dot to come on, but it won't. Two weeks ago at Green River it quit working on the last stage on the second to last target. New battery for sure. No reason to fool with it until today. Right? WRONG. A new battery won't make it come on, so I get to try to figure out what is going on. and get ready for next weekend.

Use iron sights. Quit wearing the dress and man up! Need help call. I may have one to loan to you.

Do you mean you have another dress I could wear? I do not think we are the same size.

I appreciate the offer, but the more I think about it, the more I think I will go with my AR with iron sights, so at least you will get half of your request, wardrobe is still up in the air.

Brooks, I spoke to Greg from your church last week and we had some fun at your expense. I think he will be out that weekend also.

What time do the matches usually finish?

Depending on the number of shooters that we have, usually about noon for a 3-gun. Could be a little later if we have a big turnout.

Now that's funny right there...

I can see both of them being really close friends after this generous gesture.

Like the Bible says: no greater love has any man than this: that he lay down his high-brass magnum slugs for his fellow 3-gun competitor... Bwahahahaha ;)
