I am 19 and all of my bikes cost less than 500 per year for full coverage and 2 for liability

Well Farm Bureau does my insurance. I guess it would be the best idea to do full coverage on a bike.

Depends how good your medical insurance is and how much you spend on your bike. My Medical covers me when I go down and both of my bikes cost less than 1200 to replace so I run liability.

If you have a lien on the bike, they'll require full coverage. Otherwise, it's up to you. Full coverage typically isn't a lot more $$.

Regarding your height and bikes... don't assume the 1100 is bigger than the 800. That's like saying the V8 Mustang has more leg room than the V6. Personally, I'd steer you more toward a "standard" bike than a cruiser. The extra visibility that comes from sitting up higher, both to see and be seen, is quite valuable in traffic/commuter conditions.

Well my first bike was a shadow 600 vlx, and i loved it. It my pulled my hefty frame 6'2 340 easily back and forth from kingsport to carter county. I honestly miss it over a couple of other bikes i have had. If you havent aken the motorcycle riding course I highly suggest it.
