KBs are caused by ammo. Whether it's a double charge, or someone shooting lead bullets where lead isn't recomended, and not cleaning.

There are KBs in XDs, Sigs,....etc. You don't hear about them as much because there are more Glocks out there. Reliability requires no soul!!!!!

I just bash the Glock guys, well, because I can. When you look at the number of Glocks out there, then figure the number of failures... % tells you they are about par. Shall we post Kimber, Colt and Springfield KBs? Hey, I don't think much of Glocks, but I'm of the mind they aren't great pistols, just fairly good ones.

You all know one day these Glock guys will wake up and spend the extra for a Sig or HK. Until then, let them be. No one wins this argument. You get what you pay for...

hey this is no lie. i would buy a more expensive gun if my wife would let me:( she gives me a limit of $500.00 and a glock is the better choices for that prices ranges for me

So, from what I am reading, even using factory ammunition in a Glock doesn't mean it isn't going to blow up....

Sorry folks, there just is not enough safety factor in these guns to be sufficiently safe. This is ridiculous. It would never have happened in a USP, XD, Beretta or M&P.

Back when I first got out of college, I worked for an engineering sales company in Kingsport. My first training was out in the shop, getting my hands dirty selling fittings and hydraulic hoses over the counter. Getting my hands dirty, before I got out in the field doing control instrumentation stuff for chemical companies and the nuclear power industry..

For hoses, proof pressure (what pressure you are suppose to limit a hose to) is 1/4 of burst pressure (where you expect a hose to fail). There is a 4-to-1 safety factor. I'm used to such safety factors, and that may explain to some of you why I hold Glocks in such poor esteem.

They normally "get by" but something in my hand that may blow up should be able to handle pressures that do more than "get by."

These things have been here since 1989. They should have been completely re-designed many years ago to add significant safety factor. I think that's obvious.

Apart from the Glock stuff, I've seen enough reports lately about bad factory ammunition that I wonder if we shouldn't weigh at least a few rounds of a box of ammo to see if they are reasonable.

Guess that wouldn't catch a powder change, but might discover an overcharge of normal powder.

I used to re-weigh my reloads to check for that.

Was it a bad charge or crimp or bullet seating depth? And what about the departments procedure for controlling lots of ammo, i.e. who was issued what, how much and when. The department did not take all bad ammo out of use.

Don't bother weighing factory ammo, don't even bother looking at it. Just shove it in the mag and go to town. If the ammo manufacturer recalls it, just ignore the warning and blast away. All you need is a camo, uber-tactical HK and you'll be just fine. It doesn't even matter what caliber you stuff into it. You can probably shoot 308 out of a 9mm HK w/o any problems, right Mars?

I think I need rubber boots to even read some of this garbage.

Ha. Its easier than you think. Ive taken many Tennessee boar with Ol Bry. I just set up on the fence and shoot down into the pen. 2 shots or maybe 3 and one hits him in the head. If I was shooting a Block or a 1911 I probably never hit him. Then my brother and me chain him up to the pickup and drag him over to the tree where we pull him up to a big branch with the come along. Then we field dress him.
