Old Glock "Update"

Just recently found out about this frame "update" and was wondering if anyone has had this done and if there were any drawbacks to sending the gun in. Glock gives the choice of a random frame with a non-matching serial or a matching with a "1" in front of the existing serial. The matching # would take a good time longer to get back. Anyone had this done and what has the longterm solution been beneficial or problematic? Any benefit of getting the matching # or not?

I had it done too. Got the random number. The gun was a "keeper" so could care less what the serial number was. I walked it into Glock in Smyrna and got it back in a week. Also got my 10 round mags swapped for 15's. My Tupperware case swapped for a clamshell. And was offered extended slide lock(turned that down).

They shipped right to my house.

I did along with a ejection port upgrade on a very old gen 2 G21. Took 5 months but i got a new gen 3 gun new slide also. Was worried after a couple months but after a few phone calls and a brand new gun very happy.
