I've been toying with the idea of starting a gun shop. Home based at first and hopefully grow from there. Can anybody help point me in the right direction? Also has anybody used any of the FFL kits available online?

The FFL kits are a scam; deal directly with the ATF.

We have all thought about getting an FFL; they are only $200, I’d pay that without a second thought. I have a C&R.

They aren’t going to let you have one to just buy your own guns. You have to have a business actively selling firearms. I don’t think they are giving them to anyone without a storefront anymore.

First thing you can do is check your local zoning and ordnances; they will. I can’t have a business of that type in my home in Murfreesboro; so I was stopped right there.

Hope you have better luck.

Zoning is your biggest hurdle. Then....everyone just wants some of your money for permits/licences.

Zoning can be a huge P.I.T.A. for anyone that wants to work from home.

And Dave is right I believe, unless you are prepared to throw down a huge chunk

of money for a building, vault ( safe that meets their standards) etc. then its not worth

the headache.
