Glock barrels compatibility

Hello all,

My question is to somebody who own G-20 and G-22.

Can you put G-22 barrel into G-20?

If so, does it tilt and lock the slide?

If so, can G_20 slide run .40S&W round into the chamber of G-22 barrel?

If so, do you know the headspace in such setup?

I know, that conversion barrels exist. I'd like to know if they are any different from G-22 barrels

Even if they did make a conversion barrel (I have never hear of one) the magazines would not be compatible. Don't own a 10MM, but I do know the round is longer than the .40. This would require the mag to be longer from front to back. A quick google search found some guys shooting single shot .40 rounds in a 10mm, but I would not try it.

There are several manufacturers of conversion barrels. The magazine problem can be remedied by buying the appropriate magazines. Not sure of the OP's question though.

There is no capatability between factory Glock 22 and Glock 20 barrels/ frames. I have tried it but the chamber is actually longer on the Glock 20 frame. I never tried a complete Glock 22 slide on a Glock 20 frame as I believe it may work.

The Glock 20 is built on the large frame 10mm/.45acp. The Glock 22 is built on the smaller 9mm/.40 S&W/.45gap frame. Neither the slide, barrel or magazines from a Glock 22 is interchangeable with the Glock 20.

To use the conversion barrels you have to continue using the Glock 20 magazine. Lone Wolf Distributors - Product Detail - LWD Barrel M/20 Conversion to 40 S&W Stock Length - $114.95

You're not just talking about two different size calibers/barrels, but you're talking about two different sized frames as well. So as a result the slides, and magazines will also be different in terms of size.

The G22 barrel will not work safely because the diameter is smaller than the G20 barrel and will not fit the slide correctly. G22 and G20 are two completely different guns.

I have shot 40 S&W out of my G20 with no changes and it worked well, go with a conversion barrel and use the G20 mags.

LWD has the conversion parts as mentioned above. The frames/slides are not compatible, again as mentioned above. You can shoot .40 out of a 10mm revolver with no other changes, just like you would shoot .38's through a .357.
