Lawyering up may not be the solution, Local schools under control of local school boards, devoid of Federal or State Gov't interference is the solution.

At one time in this country the teacher would have been tarred and feathered and run out of town.

At one time in this country she would have been dismissed on the spot.

Today it's get legal representation to protect your child and you, and to deal with the system.

I do sorta have to laugh.

I am guessing nothing at all came of this student teacher interactiion. Might be wrong but unless I missed it the OP has not updated anything.

And I really laugh at all the "lawyer up" talk. This country's populace uses lawyers now instead of interacting with each other.

I am not sure a lawyer is the solution here.

I agree!

He shouldn't have used damn, he should have used F'n........no I'm just kidding. The story would have been perfect if he didn't use the word, even though, if it were my kid, I would say something like this, you shouldn't have said it, don't do it again, then I would have moved on, on how proud of him I was for standing up for what is not right.

In general,

If you send your kids to a classical school, you expect them to get a classical education.

If you send your kids to a Catholic school, you expect them to get a Catholic education.

Why do you not expect to get good little (GLBT tolerant, anti-gun) socialists when you send them to the government school?

Yes, some kids (like yours) get good instruction at home, but many, many more will fall prey to the indoctrination center they are sent to every day.

Get your kids out of government schools.

I'll throw in my 2 cents here. I for one am glad your son used those exact words. I'm a firm believer in treating others the way they treat you. Give people the benefit of the doubt, be polite, be respectful, and be civil. If they don't return the favor you owe them nothing. Teacher or not.

If I may put my .02, Sounds to me like the teacher was pressuring(bully) him for an answer. I am so glad my daughter is out of school. She is so much like me she would have told her teacher to mind their own business. There are getting to be more and more bad teachers, the school my daughter went to there was a female teacher that was charged with sexual misconduct with several students. This dated back to when my daughter was there. I always told her if you think it is something you don't feel comfortable answering tell them to as your dad he knows everything.lol

this thread makes me chuckle. Tobashadow, you did a good job of raising your son, props to you.

What someone does or doesn't have in their possession is none of anyone's damn business, unless it directly affects the safety and well-being of someone.

Teachers are ruining children with the so-called education system in this country. It's no wonder why this country is so far behind the rest of the world academically.

I hope he's not in jail after his school visit!
